Pete's BDay Gift Finally Happens

I had some art framed from two of our trips. It's not easy to hang a picture in Argentina because the walls are made of brick and mortar so you just don't easily pound a nail in the wall. Luckily we installed art picture rails so you can hang the art from strings instead of pounding a nail into the wall, but it's still not easy as you have special clips to hang the art. After the art was framed, it sat on our bedroom floor for a few months. When my birthday rolled around, neither Ron or I like to receive gifts, so I told Ron, "You know what I want for my birthday gift?" and he said, "What?", and I replied. “I'd really love that artwork hung for my bday!” He said, "Sure", it's now April and my bday was last Feb, when I asked Ron about my birthday gift, he said,
"You didn't say which year!" Uffff! So he finally hung our art!

This was the newly framed art, 3 pieces. They sat here for several months waiting to be hung.




		We bought this canvas last Sept 2019 in Kenya. It portrays women in Kenyan dress with water pots on their head. We hung it above our bed.

It's a fairly large canvas, and when I saw it, all the women were calling out to me,
"We want to go home with you, buy us!" I love it, it's beautiful.

Believe it or not, we bought this papyrus artwork in Jan 2005 in Egypt and it's been sitting in an art tube for 15 years! Since I was getting the Kenyan canvas mounted, I thought it was a good time to get this framed.

It's also a fairly large papyrus piece.

This one is smaller, but also bought in Egypt in 2005.

I was very pleased with the job they did framing them. I picked the gold frame and the green matt background.

The Kenyan piece above our bed, the other piece is by a famous Argentine artist Luis Niveiro


	There's a story that goes with the painting, Luis is a friend of mine and he said at one time he didn't have any money to buy canvas to paint on, and he looked someone's name up in the phone book, and realized there was all this free paper in front of him, so he started painting in the phonebook!

The artwork looks fantastic, and I finally got my BDay gift, 2 months late!
