Pete's 57th BDay - Feb 2019 I don't care about celebrating my birthday, but it's a good excuse to have friends over and share a meal and some conversation!
Getting the flowers for the table and the Volta bag is the ice cream to have with the cake! One thing I love about city living, everything is just a few blocks away, I ordered everything from within a few blocks of our home.
I ordered a "picada" tray for 10 and it was a little more then I expected! Walking home with it down the street, everyone was looking at it going "Yuuummm, Que Rico! (How delicious) A que hora debo llegar en su casa? (What time should I arrive at your home?)"
Getting the table setup.
I love having friends over!
Lola is excited we're going to have another party.
Guillermo, Diego and Alberto - Great friends!

I bought the table cloth in Mexico
Guests arriving
Bruce, Michael and Robert
Robert, Norm, Tom and Michael with his screwdriver!
I don't like people to bring me presents, but Bruce gave me this "spinner" It really reflects the light when it spins.
It's double sided with 3 colorful fish on each side.
Tom, Michael, Arnaldo and Tom's brother Louie visiting from Holland, I said, "Oh you can't be Tom's brother?" (they look identical) Like he hasn't heard THAT before!
They made a nice dent in the picada tray!
Alberto, Guillermo and Diego, enjoying the banter in the kitchen while I prepare dinner.
The 4 days before it was horribly hot, but god gave us a gift and it was cool and breezy, we didn't even need the air conditioning. Me with my husband!

I love my friends around my dinner table.
Arnaldo, Guillermo and Diego
It's summer so I had 2 cold salads, pesto and my sister Cindy's California Crunch Coleslaw, along with chicken breast stuffed with spinach and feta cheese.
Alberto, Bruce, Michael and Louie
Good friends!
Every year Ron makes me a German Chocolate cake from scratch, it's my favorite and Ron makes it the best!
We set it up so guests could help themselves to either Ron's cake and ice cream or some fruit salad and yogurt.
Alberto decided he wanted both!
Michael brought masitas to have with coffee. Argentines have 2 desserts, first the primary one, then after you have coffee separetly with little sweets or "masitas"
After dinner discussions!
The guests have left, now time for cleanup!
I don't like my friends to bring presents, but sometimes I can't control them! Alberto brought me this beautiful burgundy tshirt.
Diego gave me a gift and I asked, "Should I open it?" He said, "Of course!" "You bought me a Cuban cigar?" (I don't smoke cigars) and he said, "Open it!"
Inside ws a cigar shaped fragrance dispensor! It was a great scent.
The next day Lola was exhausted after the big party and spent most of the day sleeping it off.
I am so happy and thankful to have such a wonderful, fulfilling life with a fantastic husband, fantastic friends and fantastic family! I love you all and thank you for making my life such a joy!
