Sunday, December 14th, 2008 - We have a few days at sea to get to the Antarctic peninsula. On the way we went through Lewthwalte Strait of the South Orkney Islands.

Some big rolling waves.

It amazes me there are little birds flying way the hell out in the middle of nowhere!

This is all we ever saw of the islands as it was kind of foggy.

However, the islands trapped some big bergs which we were able to cruise amongst.

The captain’s chart table. The bridge was always open to us as long as we were quiet and stayed out of the way.

This is the captain’s first mate.

You can see the penguins on the ice, they would usually get spooked by the ship and jump off as we got near.
